Comments: Hang out the flags

Looking out from my window I can see four. Dead common, me.

Nigel, that's nothing, don't worry.

While out visiting the Open Gardens in a small village near here last weekend, we wrong-slotted and ended up in the end of town where they don't have gardens, just yards full of supermarket trolleys and dog poop.

In the time it took Mr BW to turn around, I counted 27 flags...

Hmm. Whilst part of me laments the usurping of our flag by poor car drivers - England is not, as far as I'm aware, sponsored by 'The Sun', another part of me thinks it a peculiarly British disease that flag waving is considered 'common' and 'undesireable'.

Ray - yes, quite so.

But, I don't feel that the Union Flag is considered quite so 'common' is it?

Strangely, when I see a Scottish or Welsh flag, I think, "Ah, that's nice, how patriotic!"

Englsih football's negative aspects have a lot to answer for methinks...

The Welsh have a flag? Why? And do they ever have any reason to wave it?
