Well I voted for Paul Merton because I like him (and don't care for Lynham) but in reality if he got it I can't see Paul Merton doing it for any length of time.

If Paul gets it, will that take him off Have I Got News for You? Cos I love him in that and don't want him to just be on at teatime when I can't usually see him.

I've just voted for Des Lyman, even though he make me itch every time I see him. Merton's scripted and wise-cracking "personality" is totally unsuited for the non-threatening afternoon cosiness of Countdown, and honestly, BW, I don't believe I'm posting a comment on a Channel 4 word-game this Saturday night when I really should have far more exciting and supposedly glamorous things to do down Old Compton Street way. ;-)

Sigh. Pass the Sanatogen and slippers, why don't you?
