Addicted to it, but its not real, its a collection of all the worst egos you might come across in 10 years of work, all crammed together, bouncing off each other, mouthing off about how they are the best in the world and then crashing in a heap when called upon to actually perform.

Hate it - although I do read the "as it happens" blog on the Grauniad's website the next day, because that's usually amusing.
However, don't forget that the competitors are emphatically *not* "the top of the business tree" - because all fifteen of them are available for around 4 months filming, and now doing anything else in the meantime.
Therefore, they're all either a) unemployed or b) non-essential to the business. Thus, not "top of the business tree".
In fact they're all vacuous wannabe media-tarts, using t'Apprentice to get famous, not to get the job.
And if you take that into account when watching it, it's not quite so appalling...
I still quite enjoy it, although I think it has got more and more cringe-worthy as there are fewer decent sorts and more of the back-stabbers. As Lyle suggests, they're not really "top of the business tree" types in the main or they wouldn't have the time to dedicate to a pretty slim chance of getting a salary that the really high fliers would get to easily anyway.
Never seen it, seen a couple of the trailers and that was enough

Don't think I've seen a whole programme all the way through. I thought the celeb version was very telling - Vorderman and Wax showing why they are more successful than the other two 'girlies'. Mean streaks or what!
It reminds me of the middle class nastiness that characterises certain parts of London.

The tasks are generally unrealistic, Sugar is inarticulate, the contestants are mostly appalling, immature, disrespectful and have an utterly misplaced sense of self-worth. Nick and Margaret are the only sensible people involved.
However, I'm afraid we find it rather compelling and tune in every week...
I used to watch it but it has become boring. As per earlier comments they are not top drawer business types.
Have you heard BW that thieves are now targetting bees. Keep an eye on your buzzy familiars. According to a news report t'other day, livestock and bees are being targetted. Last year it was metal signs and manhole covers but this year the money is in livestock.
I detest reality shows. And what also makes me shake my head in disbelief and shame is that they are consistently amongst the most popularly rated shows (which is a sad reflection of the state of american taste , interests and intelligence).
The only show I would watch would be called "Hit Donald Trump in the face with a sock full of wood screws".Or perhaps "I could have been your father , but the dog beat me over the fence".
Now that would be quality TV :P
I'm watching celebrity apprentice in the USofA if that counts. Only watching it because it is serious "car-crash-tv".
Of course, this might just be a part-time blogger updating his life in your comment box...damn, been caught again :^)

Can't watch it. Too chilling. I take these things far too seriously, and end up feeling personally offended by the hideous personalities on this kind of show.
It shatters my carefully maintained illusion, (nah - make that delusion), that the world is a pleasant place full of pleasant-ish people; rather than it being filled with cads who would sell their own mothers for a chance to work with a dodgy bloke who only seems to be able to get models to marry him.
Just like 99% of "reality" TV (See "Britain's got no Talent", Big Brother, etc) I loathe it. I think it's nothing more than a thinly disguised opportunity for a bunch of people to take the mickey out of one hapless member of the public. And just like the other programmes of this ilk, just enough people have success from them to keep up the pretense of it being a competition.
Hate it. Wouldn't want to work with any of them, including the vastly over-rated Alan Sugar.

Posted by NiC on 17 April, 2009 at 2:44 PMWe enjoy it as an object lesson in how not to do it.
Posted by Debster on 17 April, 2009 at 3:47 PMI've never watched it, although having been overwhelmed by trailers for the programme and media coverage about the contestants, I feel as if I have.
