Comments: New Rules for the United (not Untied) Kingdom

And not a single person noticed that the Union Flag in the top photo (that I nicked from the BBC website) is upside down.

No national pride at all...

I think that making boys speak like the Queen may be a little too far, but perhaps not. Vote BW!

I was taught 'wide white top' next to the hoist.

...it's not so much upside down as not a Union Jack at all. It appears to have three wide stripes uppermost and one wide stripe downermost! As an anti flag type it always amazes me how little most flag wavers know about their flag...so I'm not surprised no-one else spotted it Witchy.

Ah, *cough* missed the bottom hoist quadrant, assumed - never assume - perfect symmetry. [Slinks away shamefaced]

I know people who were considering ticking both boxes because they couldn't make up their mind but didn't want to go into the non voting stats. There are obviously people who are passionately pro union and some who are die hard nationalists but an awful lot of people I knew were having quite sensible discussions about the state of the nation and whether we were better in or out of the union. Nobody I know trusted the last minute promise on the Barnett formula so I honestly don't believe that was why people voted No. A lot of it was to do with the scare mongering on the economy and the fact that Alex Salmond failed to elaborate on the currency. I also know people (myself included) who were really worried about the last minute bribes because we felt it would just make the English resent us. I was so relived when David Cameron started warbling on about the need to sort out the West Lothian question............

It's not upsidedown. The stick is on the wrong side
