Of course you don't announce you have 'problems', it might worry your customers and that, in turn, would affect your profits and the profits paid to your shareholders - who are now going to take their money elsewhere.
Not that they're bothered about your (dodgy) security and (even more dodgy) approach to customer care. They just want the best return for their investment. Ethical investing anyone?
