Maybe they don't think another bank crash will happen?
Maybe they're just too busy gathering mud to sling at other parties?

I suspect it's because they've bleated so much about new safeguards etc. etc., they don't want to admit/acknowledge that there even *could* be another crash.
Or, as it's known in more cynical circles, "Denial, and head-in-the-sand politics"...
