The love of practical crafts is something we share and a very good thing to have inherited.

I took a selfie last year. Sorry.

I remember Women's Weekly (famed for its knitting) I knitted several things from its pages.

It's still going?

*adds another day until more kitten pictures are published, as punishment to Debster* ;)

Yep Bronchitikat, I was surprised too: and a third of a million paper copies are sold ever week. It was lightweight, but inoffensive, reading.

I love Miffy. I don't suppose that issue is still for sale is it? I must have a look. I'm neutral on selfies. I've never taken one but don't mind other people doing it as long as they aren't bothering people.

Agaless - I photographed the Miffy knitting pattern pages - if you'd like me to send them over to you, drop me an email.

I have no problems about people taking selfies - when going through London on a bus a few weeks ago, I thought it was rather sweet to see tourists taking pictures of themselves against landmarks. I've been asked to take such photos in the past for people and now they can do it for themselves, I'm not sure I see the difference. Having spent years being so self-conscious that photos of me are quite rare, I now wish I had not been so convinced I was hideous when I clearly wasn't - if I'd been able to take snaps and look at myself (because a mirror isn't the same at all), I might have been more confident about my appearance.

The current burgeoning professional literature about body image and the negative effect of selfies, and the fact that more young people than ever have eating disorders, suggests differently Z.
