Comments: On heating

It's been rather chilly here past couple of days. Rather nice though after all the gales and floods last week. Only 8 years on the tree? Ours is around 14 I think;)

Luckily no floods here Amber, although it was very windy.

That tree of ours is a real (potted) tree. Maybe yours is too?

May I try the mincemeat and chutney? Please?

Not sure how old our tree is. We got it when the children were small-ish and they left home over ten years ago. I think it's still ok though we tend to make do with a flat triangle with glittery things attached as it takes up far less room and is easier to put up. Not to mention quicker.

I've been lighting the fire for ages, much sooner than Russell would have done. And I light it in the morning if I'm not going out. I'm unashamedly self-indulgent.

No tree this year, I'll be away. Btw, are you still considering getting a tortoise? I'm fond of Edweena, but I'm not really a tortoise person.

The mincemeat is lovely and it hasn't even matured yet

...and with excellent timing we've just moved somewhere without gas and so are reliant on oil for our central heating! Long may it remain so cheap....

Petrol in the local independent supermarket was 99.9ppl yesterday too! Didn't spot the diesel price as they don't have that in big numbers outside but assume it too is pretty low. Hurrah for life in the country. ;D
