The Sensible party! Avoiding the excesses, extremism and glib, short term answers of the others. Sadly, that may be asking for too much. Otherwise the Blue Witch Party!

Yesterday afternoon, a group of us were visiting one of the Patchy Ladies who has only a few weeks to live. Some of the attendees were knitting, some were hand sewing. Trying to keep the conversation positive, the conversation turned to bees - insects who know the value of working together to the mutual benefit.

I was describing our current programme of making new queen bees (a process known as 'queen rearing', a term that should, in today's linguistically altered world, be changed, IMHO) to deal with some of the challenges of the weather this year.

The ladies were fascinated and listened attentively. "Can you make us a new Prime Minister?" one asked; I think she was only partially joking.

"I think," I said, "that you'd be better off knitting one."

Reading around, I stumbled across an interpretation of the current situation that scared me. I find this kind of writing just as bad as the so-called Far Right. Actually, probably worse, as it will reach and fuel more people:

I see Farage is off again. So many vacancies, so many opportunities.

...and maybe not a double posting from Mr Witchy but Farage going and coming and then going again...he does have form on this after all as you say.

As for the new parties...I think not sadly and maybe just because they'd look at what happened to the SDP and LDs....we seem to be stuck with the two "main" parties for a while yet.
