Apologies that comments with URLs (even in the 'URL' box) are now getting swallowed by the blog janitor. I've done nothing, it's gone mad. I can't do anything - it is unfixable as this site's code is just too old now.
So, I shall pull comments out of 'junk' regularly (so they will appear eventually)... or you can comment with just a name (so it will appear immediately).
Mr BW says he will make me a new dress sometime soon...
I'm sorry to hear the news but I'd agree you've certainly done the right thing. A little loss now but it's likely to save you so much in the future (and not just financially).
Enjoy your break!
I'm disappointed for you, dear Blue Witches. Clearly a wise decision though.
The quilt is amazing and the carving is quite exquisite. I'm sorry the deal fell through but sounds as if it were for the best. I know your heart was set on it and it's an abrupt change to the course you expected, hopefully SA will help mend your souls!
Mathsland isn't a real place, is it?
Sounds like you did the right thing, even though it was what you thought you wanted.
I'm sure something else will turn up which will be so much better. There's a reason for everything, even if you can't see it now.
Enjoy yourselves in SA. (You could always move out there instead)
BW, sorry to hear that you've gone through all that for nothing, but as you said, far better to stop now than find out later you're stuffed.
And I am totally in love with that quilt and Mr BW's clever makings, all.
I will think of you lifting an extra glass of vino or two in South Africa.
Sorry it wasn't to be and that the vendors took so long messing about beforehand:( enjoy SA, speak when you get back?
PS the quilt is incredible I love it. Also very much like the magnets and Elly
Oh, so sorry to read about this. Bunch of wankers, clearly, and you're well out of it, but still.
Hope ZA is proving a decent break and a total shift for you.
Also, that quilt is just gorgeous. :)
AQ - Mathsland = N'umberland. And Mummy Mr BW made us promise to ignore any 'For Sale' signs out here, before she'd let us get on the plane. Mind you, with just 16 rand to the pound right now, cf over 24 last year, one wouldn't want to be investing in property right now methinks...
Having a few issues with internet access. There may be updates soon, but it is 28 degrees here (and very windy) in Noordhoek, just south of Cape Town, right now.
Sorry it all fell apart Witchy, though maybe better now than later as others have already said.
Have a great time in S.A!
"('ah, but that costs money, and we have other ways of doing things up here, you'll get used to it.')"
Sorry about your frustrating house sale with what sounds like shady sellers. No wonder you are suffering from those steadily depressin', low down, mind messin', trying to buy a new house blues.
I love the quilt and Mr BW's artwork, you both are so talented.

...I wonder if there's an influx of Fieldfares as we've got a few at the moment too. Don't remember seeing any last year.
Thank you explaining why comments are not taking. As you see, I commented twice thinking the computer had eaten my first attempt.
Sorry to hear about your troubles but it sounds like you saved yourselves a lot of heartache. Enjoy the sun and S.A!
Sorry to hear it fell through, but totally understand why you bailed. (And yes, sounds like the right decision, rather than regretting it massively later)
Onwards and upwards, and all that rot...
