Comments: Day 7: SA 2018

Well, this is a surprise! Diamond Geezer has not put up a blog today (I think he must be winding us all up) and so I took a last look at Blue Witch to see if she was still mute. AND THERE YOU WERE! And grumpier than ever (?)

I have followed you for many years, and one of my earliest comments was to say that over-population was going to ruin us all. You responded by saying that we should not talk about it, because it could offend some people.

I'm glad it is now off the PC list and we can comment. There's so much which can and must be done. But what will the politicians do about it? Nothing until we too are down to 50 liters a day.

Temp - good to hear from you again. Thank you for checking back.

I have a suspicion tht you mistake me for someone else... I have *never* told anyone that there are things that can't be discussed.

I love a good debate, me :) (and those are few-er and far-er between these days).

As a deliberately child-free couple (how else can one retire by 50? :)), over-population is an issue very close to our hearts. We have both travelled extensively (Mr BW more than me as he spent many years travellling for business, all over the world) and have seen the results when people can't stop (or won't stop) popping them out.

And PC, BW? If there's something to be said, it needs saying. People's sensibilities are their own responsibility.

I'm not grumpy when I'm in the sun, btw. Sorry.

No - I would not suggest that you are PC in any way, but you were being sensitive to other people's feelings, as I remember it.

I don't think it could have been anyone else, because the only blog I ever followed all that time ago was the one by a London ambulance driver - the chap who wrote Blood Sweat and Tea. I can't recall his name, and I don't think he ever got on to such subjects.

I'll let you off being grumpy while you are on holiday among all those 'people of colour.' BW!

At least they were here first Temp... and they definitely do not self-identify in those terms (that's an American thing I think).

But, I am fascinated by how SA (largely) works as a melting pot whereas most other places do not.

I am staring at the sleet showers hitting our window here in Manchester and feeling pure envy :-)
