In your penultimate paragraph, you assert that there is a lot of panic buying/stockpiling that is going on. If this is the case, would not any resultant slump in non-perishable food sales occur whether or not we left the EU?
In other news, we're still agog to know more about the pictures in your previous post, and what's wrong with the post boxes (12 December)??!

Tim - slump in sales - indeed, but it will be attributed to Brexit and Brexit causing shortages so things aren't available to buy, rather than taking acocunt of advance bulk purchasing, when it occurs if we leave.

Another example of 'Blame Brexit' reporting... this morning on BBC Breakfast they were talking about Jaguar/Landrover cutting jobs and blaming it on Brexit as a headline, with scant mention of the more likely reasons - downturn in the economy (therefore luxury imported goods market) in China, and no mention of the current confusion over diesel. Many people who usually buy top-end cars and change their vehices regualarly are delaying purchasing new vehicles in the hope that the evidence for diesel v petrol v electric will become clearer, and electric batteries will drop in price and increase in efficiency so reducing the price of electric cars.

Post boxes - no, no more info, no hidden meanings, I just like post boxes, in whatever form, and so collected all the stamps from cards rather than put them in the charity stamp recycling as I normally would.

And the pictures - no hidden meanings - I was just amused by Snowflake horse bedding and heated dog bowls. This was then compounded by this week's R4 Food Programme all about gourmet individually chef cooked meals for dogs. Let animals be animals, please people.

Time now, perhaps, to have a tidy-up of the list of your familiars down the right hand side of your page. Many of them no longer exist. Possibly a little destructivity rather than creativity would be in order?

Sadly, Temp, I can't. I'd love to, but the template was made (by a kind former blogger) in 2004 and anything I do to change any part of it now upsets all the rest. Last time I had to remove something, the lot crashed and it took a lot of effort from other people to get it back.
