Comments: Three things that have amazed me recently

BW, it might be worth checking with the council re the lady being blocked in. Their parking policy and priorities for towing should be online somewhere although some councils don't make them easy to find. Most would jump at the offer of an easy PCN and tow. She would have to be completely blocked in though - the sloping bit of the dropped kerb doesn't count. And it only works one-way - not being able to get off your drive is actionable; not being able to get on it - tough luck.

Thanks Sue - yes, that was why she contacted the MP: the council refused to do anything about it. Recently she had to get a taxi to a hospital appointment as she was blocked in - which cost her £47 each way. £94 of unnecessary expenditure, and the MP was not minded to assist.

I am desperate to give this story to the tabloids (they'd love it, particularly given who the MP is), but my friend cannot be persuaded. She doesn't want the publicity/stress and fears potential repercussions such as physical damage to her vehicle/property. She has no family in the UK (her only son lives in Hong Kong) and no real support at all.
