Erm, yes, sorry... lots to write about, but...

Either there is no wifi where we are, or no electricity (rolling power cuts).

It's hard/impossible to coordinate charging 8 different devices from one convertor plug, and having wifi to use them.

It's like the 1970s here... unions are are all powerful and the government are about to bail out the national electricity supplier, which owes billions of rands, using half of the public sector pension fund (yes, really, saying, as justification: "The only money that belongs to the contributors is that which they put in; the growth on the funds belongs to the government.").

Meanwhile, farmers are turning to monoculture that can be machine farmed as the farm labourers unions have severely changed what employers can require etc etc. That bit is more like the 1940s...

Plus, the minimum wage is still R20 per hour - just over £1, same as it was back in 2012 when we first started coming here (although it was worth £1.40 then). Inflation is rampant and so savings accounts still pay 8%, which is above RPI, unlike in the UK and most of the rest of the world right now.

All interesting stuff, though.
