Comments: I know why supermarket shelves are empty

On the news there was a queue for 42 km of lorries waiting to cross the Czech border.

Which reminds me... Until we got to Peterborough, there was not a single Eastern European plated lorry either (and not many even then). Sometimes in the past we've seen as many as 30% foreign lorries on lower stretches of this journey.

And wow, those two new bridges on that new (still being constructed) stretch of the A14 around there. A Y-base and an inverted Y on top, and then suspension bits. Beautiful. I'll try to put some pictures into these posts soon. I have lots, not just any time to download and play with them!

My brother in the hauling trade says the drivers from abroad have returned home and he has 40 loads not covered this morning... that’s a lot of bleach, as he said! Goods are there but no one to deliver.

Roz - wow. But, having driven probably 1,200 miles in the last 8 days, that totally accords with what we have seen.
