I'm loving not having to go out other than to walk the dogs and not having visitors. The only downside is that someone suggests a Zoom chat if you don't fancy it you can't claim you're going out.....doh!

The Repair Shop remains an inspiration on the make do and mend principles, without a valuation in sight.

It is also v useful to understand how to mend certain things. I have used quite a few of their professional techniques over the years to understand the best way to fix other things.

It so happens that a dish holding house plants is behind my computer chair. Behind that, you can just see an oil painting on the wall. Someone on Twitter (which I don't look at because it's so often unpleasant) pointed out that Gove's curtains appear to be made out of Stilton. I haven't watched tv news for several years, so wouldn't have picked up on that.

The kindness of most people is one of the most comforting things about the situation. Being home alone with Tim is a pleasure. I miss my children and grandchildren dreadfully but I don't dwell on it because it can't be helped.
