Comments: The good and the bad

Walled garden. That might be Wallington, then.

Ha ha good old Rothbury!

Both correct.

Wallington walled garden was looking beautiful. Almost no-one there. Sadly no plants for sale and the greenhouse was also closed. But, it showed us that almost all the plants that we and the bees like will thrive up here.

And as for Rothbury - we didn't have to go there, so I had a reprieve. After visiting Wallington, we rang the stove shop to check they were open. A man answered the phone. "Well, we are open, but only by appointment." "Can we have an appointment in 20 minutes time then, please?" I asked. "No, because I'm looking after my daughter today, so the best I can do is tomorrow."

He didn't bother to ask what we wanted, so failed to ascertain that we were trying to give him the better part of £2.5Ks worth of business. In the present climate, you'd think he'd be biting our hands off. You just couldn't make this stuff up.

So then we went to another town, to a builders' merchants. They gave us a price for the stove we want (we've already seen it in a shop down south), and a list of approved fitters, as they don't provide the whole package. So now we can order it online, for a discounted price and have a choice of reliable locals to fit it. That should save a lot of pennies.

Spam alert: I've just had one (apparently) from you. I knew it wasn't, because amongst other things (a) it had a rather odd "confidentiality notice"; and (b) the link was bogus. But the weird thing is that it was a reply to an email I had sent to you - the chain of correspondence was included! I've saved the mail headers should you need to see them.

Yes please Tim.

Given that my email address is currently being used to send numerous spam emails by an Italian, I'm now wondering whether my BW email on the hosting company server has been compromised... I'll run anti-virus and malware checkers but these constantly work in the background, so it would be more likely to be that than my computers. But I shall check...

I regularly get email from another couple of bloggers of a similar sort. But not with actual e-conversations attached.

Anyone else had any similar emails?

GRRRRR. Yes, as I suspected, my computers are fine, but the BW email has been hacked. First time I've ever had anything hacked!

Over 1000 spam emails sent.

I've opened a support ticket, thinking I couldn't get into the control panel as I don't have my password file up here, but one of my computers had it stored, so I've changed the passwords.

Why I didn't think of that eventuality before, rather than assume the email address had been spoofed I have no idea.

And, at that volume of junk mail, how it wasn't picked up by the hosting company as it was happening, I have no idea.

Thanks to Tim for letting me know, and apologies to anyone else who has received spam. Hopefully I've stopped it now.

Yes I've had one from you as well. It said open this document but somewhere along the line the thing was removed.

I didn’t receive one but couldn’t leave a reply last night. Something about incomplete template I think. I was replying re honey and my impending shortage
