Comments: Finally, the light at the end of the tunnel isn't an oncoming train

Yippee for tunnel light finally. Wish I’d thought to find out when you were travelling. Incoming package tomorrow if parcelforce do their stuff. Is there someone who will take in parcels? Safe journeys and so pleased regarding PP. well done Mr BW.

There is a nominated 'safe place' for parcels Amber - and oooh, how exciting, thank you!

Given the number of things that should have arrived last week, but will be arriving this week instead, the safe place is going to be rather full when we get back.

Greetings. Soooo glad to hear you are enjoying some positive progress. Also very happy to learn that you are finally sourcing and gathering some quality tradesmen around you. Your house will be finished soon just in time for our royal visit.

What, you're not planning to visit for 3 years then Dave?

Sorry, but Ambermoggie and the new Mr Ambermoggie have now beaten you to being the first visitor via BW. And they live 60 miles further away than you. Fancy a day of helping cut down a line of leylandii sometime soon? We have chainsaws, industrial chipping machine that will take 6" trunks with attached branches through in seconds and reduce them to mush, and lots of ropes.

I'm allergic to leylandii. And hard work.
If you hire some big beefy brusque workmen to do that job I'll be there. Picnic blanket, flask, Greggs pastries and surruptitious binoculars and we're all set.

The big beefy workmen want between 3 and 6 grand to do the job - and it's not difficult! Hence the DIY approach, but with proper hired industrial chipping machine, like tree surgeons use.

I always think of Fargo when I hear about those industrial tree mulchers. Good way to hide a body.

Do you have a guilty secret dave? ;)

Talking of bad workmen I'm following a saga on instagram called elsworthyhell. They paid 14 million for a townhouse and it's all the terrible things the builders did. Today they found the off switch for the heating is behind the fitted wardrobes. Last week the fire alarm panel was behind the fire curtain. And all the taps are two inches above the sink bottoms. There's a lot more in similar vein.
