I don't think I have bought foolscap anything since the UK adopted A4 in 1959!

They are usually called 'foolscap/A4' (even now, in many listings) as they will take papers larger than A4 easily. Spot the Witch who worked in WHSmith during weekends and school holidays as a 15 year old...

And, thinking more aboout this, when I did RSA I and II Typewriting in 1978 (the most useful skill I ever learnt), foolscap was definitely still a thing.

It was still in use in 1989 too, as I have a pile of the very thin carbon copy paper that I acquired from office staff where I then worked.
