Comments: Fighting a losing battle

Evil bay & Amazon doing very well during this lockdown. I do wonder if all the empty retail space will be turned into accommodation.

I checked, and I last bought something from Amazon in 2008.

One of the benefits of city living.

delcatto - if it was, it would save a lot of green fields in counties neighbouring London. Plus, it would make sense - live near where you work, like people did in the good old days!

Honestly, having seen the absolute pigs ear that Royal Mail have become over this year, Amazon's services have been brilliant by comparison.

I've had multiple things this year via Royal Mail that took at least a week to arrive - including a magazine subscription, and some (fortunately non-perishable) food items - whereas with Amazon I've even had a same-day Sunday delivery.

I've also had other things come via other courier services (DPD in particular has been excellent) and it's *so* easy to see why Royal Mail is going as downhill as it is in the face of that competition.

Yesterday I too had my first-ever same-day delivery from Amazon - to Norfolk!
