Comments: Stamp prices are increasing again on January 1st.
!!!!
I did know current costs but partly because Mrs.Planarchy said the other day that there much of a differential price between first and second class stamps the other day. Looks like that's changing!
I didn't know - other than having had to post stuff to get to people for the Festering Season - but then, I bought a couple of boxes of postage-paid envelopes two or three years back, which is looking like a *very* good deal now!

I knew because my catalogue postage is tax-deductible, but I didn't know that postage rates are going up on 1st January rather than in the spring as usual. Or maybe it's as well?
Yagnub's post office (at the back of a shop that's closing next month) closed just before Christmas, too.

Although I post very little these days (and that general trend is partly responsible for the prices going up), I think that the Royal Mail still broadly offers fairly good value.
If you buy stamps at other than post offices, do be careful what you are being charged - it is not always the face value of the stamps.
Also, if you post parcels, print your own postage - it's cheaper!

We live in Ireland. Yesterday, we received three christmas cards from the UK. One had paid the correct £1.45. One had paid a very generous £1.70 and one had got away with a standard second class stamp.

BW, on the topic of 'ultimate bed/bedroom' and your recent enquiry about teasmades - saw this and thought of you :-) https://twitter.com/i/status/1344805701349036034

Not far out there Sue ;) (the comments are amusing too)
I remembered what annoyed me about teasmades in the 1980s - the 20 minutes of heating and gurgling sounds before it was ready, that woke me up too early. I've solved the problem - enhanced training for Mr BW :)
