Is 'sheep dip' an insult?

Posted by David on 12 February, 2021 at 10:04 PM

dave - many of the old sheep farmers are said to suffer the long-term effects of organo-phosphates used in sheep dip in the second half of the 20th century. OPs were never safe, but so many corners are cut by farmers in areas where 'The Ministry' don't visit very often, so it is likely that any farmers who now seem 'rather slow on the uptake' might be affected/afflicted.

See, for example,

"Gratuitous cat picture" - I hope you meant that in terms of "free" rather than "done without good reason" because the latter just wouldn't be true (I think Debs will back me up here). We need more gratuitous cat pictures.

How is Puss adapting to the colder weather? Become a house cat yet?

What an amazing set of adventures you possibly didn't anticipate!!

As ever it comes down to the suitability of what you use. Earlier that day we had a Hermes delivery from a lady who knowledgeably and carefully drove down the track, reversed into the drive to turn around and drove out.

Difference was she had a small Suzuki 4WD and winter tyres. No drama at all. Then the Amazon delivery driver saw the track and walked down.

All the poor Morrisons' girl was given was a show shovel (useless) and half a bag of rock salt (fine if you want to clear your back step and have an hour for it to work), to go with her slick tyred transit.

It wasn't her fault. She just wasn't prepared for the area.

Meanwhile our C3 hasn't moved for about 7 weeks now.

Currently looking at a Suzuki Ignis, hmmmm...

And David just to add, 'sheep dip' most certainly isn't an insult, more an explanation and an understanding.

I genuinely have nothing but admiration for people who farm in general, and more so for those who farm in very difficult conditions.

Always love a cat picture.

Tim - I've only got round to writing about probably half of the adventures... and still not the drizzle cake pics. Bad Witch.

Sue - very thick coat. Attempting to be a house cat. Failing. Coven-wide shortage of mice. Doing her job then.
