Chop up, blanch, and freeze. Then use gradually as a side vegetable, or in colcannon, or in casseroles etc.

Thank you all - I'm glad I wasn't missing any gastro-delights made from cabbage :)

It seems that the hens have decided they still like prison food after all, and the remaining cabbages seem to be slowly turning into red cabbages. Whilst they still seem quite fresh, red-cabbage coloured veining is developing. I can think of more things to make with red cabbage! Must have been an auto-spell...

While mine are laying a dozen eggs a day and four girls are broody, they're staying in until I can work out a way of fencing them. Upside is that they're really tame and sit on me.
