Comments: April Showers?

Very dry down here too.
Our IBC's would be empty if it wasn't for me just having topped them up from the well solar pump.
There's not been decent rain since February. Worrying.

Why are new houses not required to be built with grey water recycling installed?

Lack of political will. So far those in Government are merely making noises about Climate Change and the need to do something about it.

Declaring a Climate Emergency won't cut anything, and the present lot are too linked into Big Business to do anything really effective/radical.

We've emptied one water butt and are on the way to emptying another, since beginning of March. We're installing 2 more, larger, but will need the rain to fill them.

Sharon - yes. And I don't think the political situation is going to get better any time soon.

NiC - old wells are endlessly fascinating to me. Not many on tops of ridges, sadly.

It's dry here, too (USA-Midwest). We are supposed to have a bit of rain tomorrow and snow the following day, but we haven't had a good soaking rain in years. It's hard for me to believe that there can be naysayers concerning climate change when it is so obvious that extreme weather happens more and more. Good luck getting those rain barrels.

I looked up a newbuild over the road and it was not at all eco friendly. It said that it was 'ready' to have those measures installed. Astonishingly expensive and the buyers have already added an extension and a conservatory because the house was so badly laid out.
