Comments: And there it was gone

I have to say I quite enjoyed myself.

With your project management and Mr BW's skills you could hire workers and do it yourselves!

But I guess that would come with its own issues, wouldn't it? Insurance, supplier contacts, specialty trades, etc.

Yes, probably best to stay on top of them, then.

The demolition, digging out, and foundation bits done to date, yes, definitely Scoakat.

*If* it were possible to source good quality labour round here, which it's not (remember previous plasterer and plumber episodes). Plus, we don't (yet) have enough local knowledge of suppliers to know where to source obscure things, and know which of them will reliably deliver to the middle of nowhere, in a timely manner. Or, indeed, who is related to who, and who will/won't work with various other people!

But, the next stages, involving traditional stonework and roofing skills, and the ability to get the necessary people here sequentially, will be the bit where we really need an established team of builders.

Someone should send your workmen a link to this blog!

No they should not, Tim.
