My favourite practical German word is Schadenfreude.
If anything goes, Fritz Spiegel went for Hottentottenpotentatentantenattentat, which allegedly means an assassination attempt on the aunt of a Hottentot potentate.
In English, I quite like lugubrious.
If you haven't read "The Meaning of Liff", you definitely should!
Mainly because I was taught how to say it at a works party about 30 years ago by a welsh lady. We all got very drunk and just about the only thing I could recall from the night before was how to say this.
Alternatively I quite like 'gobbledygook', as it seems to apply more and more to ever more people.
