HIGNFY was definitely at 21:30 on 21/11/2021. Will look into freezers.
Good luck!

Contact info for Vestfrost is info@vestfrostsolutions.com. Have you thought of an upright model (often used in commercial kitchens to save floorspace)?

BTW, you should get a wind-up torch as well as the radio!

If I were in your position, I would be thinking of moving to a local hotel for a few days. But I've no doubt you have already thought of that and discounted it.

Thanks Tim.

Will have lots of space for chest freezer, just need details of models and sources etc. Chest freezers also much cheaper to run - well, last time I looked.

We do have wind-up torches - down south. But at least we have USB chargeable head torches, and we can charge those in Bri@n who has a solar panel and a big battery.

Can't leave here - not covid safe and no insurance as house insecure (door company mis-measured the outer door so there is a huge cold gap under it, no CCTV running and hens currently needing intense biosecurity and no-one to look after them as everyone we know - including the people on the farm 9 miles away where we used to stay - also have no power.

DPD man who just delivered a parcel, said, "You must be having a hell of a time... what can I do to help? What do you need? What can I get you? Anything, just say?" I've known him 21 months now as he delivers several times a week, but it shouldn't be down to people like him to offer to help.

What I actually need most is someone to do a couple of loads of washing for us... because I hadn't felt too great a couple of weeks ago, I already had 8 days built up when the power went off, and we don't have all our clothes and bed-linen up here. Who'd use a launderette right now (even if there was one, which there isn't) and no laundry service serves this area. Couldn't ask the DPD man as I might find my used knickers selling on the internet, mightn't I? ;)

Has any more petrol turned up? Have the promised by the council 'mid morning' logs turned up? Of course not. Why am I not surprised?

Mr BW has just gone out to use 5 litres of diesel to get the maximum-allowed-by-the-fuel-station 20 litres of petrol for the generator. If we had an electric car, what would we be doing?
