Comments: RIP Power Cut

I heard on the radio this morning that all properties in [your county] will have their power restored by this evening. Let's hope that promise is kept. Good luck!

Crossing fingers it stays on for the rest of the winter.

Thanks all.

Storm Barra already blowing up and heavy snow due within the next hour. Would like to think that if the pwoer lines come down again they will prioritise restoring us this time, but I know in my heart of hearts that they won't.

So we have left all extension leads, makeshift generator shelters and nightlights in jars and candle lighters exactly where they are, generators by the door with petrol cans ready to go outside if necessary, and are madly charging everything again and getting washing through the machine as fast as we can just in case.

Have had to un-net the hens as otherwise the snow will bring the whole caboodle down. Given that the army on the ground the last 2 days doing list making welfare checks were from Thirsk, which has the highest level of avian influenza in the country, and had been round every local farm in their big boots before they got to us, the risk of AI outbreak here is now much higher than it was before. Boots should be dipped for biosecurity as feet are the biggest man-made way of spreading it around.

It looks filthy your way, but rain rather than snow at present? Glad your power is back on.

Glad power is on and sending more vibes that the storm doesn’t affect you this time round. Can’t believe the army haven’t the sense to realise what all the soldiers tramping round can do with bird flu so prevalent. Mind these are the ones handing out leaflets and not actually helping?

I have 24-ish hours away from your updates due to Christmas Shopping commitments and you get your power back! Is Congratulations the right word? Maybe not, but we are so pleased for you, at last. Now to try to catch-up.
