Good point, but...
There are only 2 people locally who know. Both are totally trustworthy. One lives a mile away and doesn't visit when we're not here (and doesn't mix with people) and the other is the lady looking after the house.
Neither know her but both know what she is like, so wouldn't say anything even if pressed.
Plus, if she knew, she just wouldn't be able to help herself asking how it was going and when we would be finally leaving.

Ghost in the machine!
I am always astonished when I pop down to Colchester and I hear the luvverly estuary accent. My son is amused by it because he thought the accent was put on for those reality TV shows and then discovered it is real.
I never understand why people keep pets only to conayantly shout at them. Perhaps leave a few religious leaflets around or a poster for UFO's and missing people which should add spice to the mix!

delcatto - Colchester is almost a Suffolk accent (or was before the droves started moving eastwards about 10 years ago). Much softer than TOWIE et al (not that I've ever watched that, mind). Basildon is East End of London plus Estuary, with some extra fists thrown in.
