Out of curiosity, BW, how many other social medias are you on to notice?

Zero. People have been telling me when they have been in touch with me (phone/letters/cards/email/in person).

You've never mentioned any before, whitch made me curious, is all. I'm the same, but of course you know that. ;)

I haven't got into social media, so can't cut down or withdraw from it.
My first mobile phone was a Nokia. I remember that I was able to play "Snake" on it! I confess I could not do without my current Samsung smartphone. But I spend far less time making calls than you. Probably about the same number of texts. I tend to use about 2GB of data per month. I regularly check tariffs and am now on Smarty (piggybacks on Three). (Anyone wanting a referral link please let me know!)
We haven't used our landline for years.

Zero coverage on Three where we are!

What I don't understand about landline companies is why they make calls and call packages so expensive. They have a captive market due to people wanting static broadband - well, at least until 2025 when the analogue network is due to be switched off - so why not make it cheap enough for people to want to use that connection to also make calls? It would be extra revenue for no extra cost to them.

My first mobile was a work one, a nokia. I think it was a couple of years before I bought a mobile for myself, again a nokia. I bought a Motorola recently as my old mobile was playing up and use it for texts and as a phone.
Social media: fb for model groups and I dip in and out of t'other for news mainly but I absent myself for my sanity. I don't have any social media on my mobile and I have stuck to that rule. Why go for a walk to enjoy fresh air and scenery when you have your face glued to a mobile!

I'm always impressed when people can remember what they bought, when, and how much they cost. I got my first mobile phone before 2000 (haven't a clue when or what it was). Over the years with help from my techie offspring I've progressed and am now firmly into smartphones. Little portable computers.

I dabble at the very fringe of social media nowadays. I did try to get into a bit but it's not very friendly or even that interesting so I pulled back. Maybe your friends have found the same. I'm heavily into YouTube (is that social media?) especially since TV programmes have been so dire this last couple of years.

I have a landline but never use it to call out and never answer it on the rare occasion it rings because it's bound to be marketing calls. It comes as a bundle with the internet. I tend to do video calls especially with the kids.

I don't consider myself a dinosaur. I recently met someone who has a mobile but only takes it with her in case she needs it in an emergency (she doesn't answer it if it rings). Doesn't have and can't use a computer. If she rings me it's from her landline and she's got her identity blocked so it comes up as "unknown number" which for me is code for a marketing or phishing call. She's disabled and - get this - rings Tesco and dictates her shopping list for home delivery over the phone. I was astounded they even offered this service.

Heartening to know I am not the worst tech dinosaur...
