I fully agree. AIDS, bird flu, more that I forget, now Covid. One of these times Mother Nature is going to hit the mark and control the population for us since we can't (won't) control ourselves.
Same here to be honest.
They really are clowns and dangerous ones too.

Unfortunately, the clowns were elected by the voters, who generally follow their own impulses rather than pursuing the common good. Once in power, the clowns follow whatever will keep them in power, rather than pursuing the common good. (Paraphrasing Plato, who didn't like it either!)
