Comments: Action at last!

I think you are right about them working the roads as to start the job pronto and complete in such quick time is astonishing. Wot? No fag / tea / comfort / mobile / staring into the wide blue yonder breaks. Excellent work by the sound of it.

Given your litany of woes with various Tradespeople, maybe it was time you found some Really Efficient ones?

Care to share their name - for the benefit of others in your area (see comment to Saturday's entry.)

These are the best there are Sharon... really, truly and honestly.

With so much work around and so few trades, they can pick and choose their jobs and most don't want/need to come 30 miles from the nearest big town.

We need someone to rebuild a dry stone wall for us... there is a 3 year waiting list. That info came from a local farmer who is also looking for someone, not just someone telling us "3 years" because they didn't want the job. We will need to get our tarmac drive resurfaced - our neighbour waited 2 years after she had accepted a quote to get hers done.

If somoene had told me this was how things were int he rural north, before we moved here, I simply wouldn't have believed them.
