On the most important of these, the 20,000th episode of the Archers mercifully avoided avoided death, disaster and surprise celebrity guests and focused instead on flawed characters and the minutiae of pig-breeding, much like the old days.
The whole awards process went into freefall when Cameron gave one to his wife's hairdresser. Or probably before that if I think about it. A shame for the few who really deserved it but whose awards are downgraded.

I stopped listening to The Archers when they celebrated their 50th? 60th? anniversary by throwing Nigel off the roof. He was about the only character who didn't, by that time, bore me to tears and why didn't they kill off Helen instead? Neil Carter lives nearby and Alex is his postman, so I've really tried to get into it, every so often, for the sake of local solidarity, but it's just dreadful. Poor stories, mostly badly acted. Nowhere near the standard of years ago, in dreadful Mummerset.
Politics makes (make?) me so angry that I have had to disengage for several years. Mostly because of Johnson.

I have never listened to the Archers so I have no idea about beyond it being a tale of country folk. Possibly similar to Emmerdale without the farm?
Awards, gongs, etc...as with all of that paraphernalia should be scrapped. Restart it with civic awards for genuine good works.
Pantomime politics...Oh no he isn't! Oh yes he is!
