Weather is still hot and dry, 7 inches less rain than normal since May 1st. Watering plants every day but the lawn is various stages of dormant. Garlic is looking to be early, and soon, but the peppers look good.
I'm not sure what is 'normal' anymore, year to year, season to season. Same for you it sounds. Thanks for asking, though!
After a few cloudy and noticeably cool days with showers today is lovely and hot although the clouds are building up.
I gave up on my tomatoes and cucumbers as the weather and snails / slugs destroyed the couple of plants I put out.

Scoacat: yes our garlic has suddenly turned brown and droopy, so will need harvesting in the next week or so too.

Weather here been hot for ages. The odd shower here and there, but nothing prolonged. Can't remember when the water butt was full.

Maybe the John Lewis driver was just avoiding the traffic congestion the same as you were.

Caroline - this picture is half a mile from our house. The JL driver was very lost if he wasn't delivering locally!

It's been quite autumnal here in Devon for a couple of weeks or more, now, really - changed after the half-term break and hasn't quite remembered it's summer since. Bits and pieces of rain but nothing substantial... Hope the tomatoes recover.
