Yes, I'd noticed that about the temperature as well. I can only put it down to the fact that in the summer the walls, floors, ceilings are already warm whereas in the winter they're cold so seem to bring your experience of temperature down. I don't think it's very logical really but it's all I can come up with.
As for tipping the removal men I haven't a clue. But where are they staying overnight on Saturday? Can you offer them any hospitality or a nice dinner (and drink).
And it's cold grey and wet down south too.

I don't think you need to feel even slightly guilty about Homebase - they couldn't supply what you wanted.
I too like lists, but I never have more than three or four!
I don't think we've had as much rain or wind as you have.
I have no idea about tipping (in practically any context!).

This week is just starting to be busy for me with chores, tasks and appointments almost every day. All on a list!

I have no idea about tipping movers. I would think not, but tipping is out of control these days. Politeness, refreshments and the discussion of future work should do, I would think.

I'm off to the dentist tomorrow with raging toothache. And it's my birthday. Just hoping it's not an abscess.
