You shouldn't feel guilty about dishwashers! They use less water and are more hygienic than washing by hand. (But then, you knew that already.)

Tim - yes, the new one will use just 9.5l of water and 0.64kWh of electricity on a normal wash, less on an eco. I defy anyone to wash 14 place settings to the same standard in one bowl of dishwashing water.

I'm not sure our connection is up to live streaming Debster...
But... could you come next week please, when the sink and dishwasher will be out for a few days? You'd have several opportunites to practice, and then the final wash, just before the new dishwasher goes in.
