We had a Tesco carrier bag in our mulberry tree. Too high up to get at. Took 4-5 years to disintegrate.

You have a mulberry tree Caroline? Wow! Does it have fruit? I am trying to grow one. It is not going well.

But the 4-5 years does not bode well.

Our trees are bare, no bubble wrap or carrier bags. Lovely lunch with 2 friends today then home. Happy Solstice BW and Mr BW

It might not have been a mulberry tree because it grew well, and the Tesco carrier bag gradually rose with the branches. I am very ignorant about plants.

Mulberry trees can live hundreds of years and are magnificent when they get going. There is an amazing one in the garden of Long Melford Hall in Suffolk, and another in Gainsborough's House garden in Sudbury. The fruit is like huge loganberries and delicious. Not grown commercially as the berries are too juicy and would not transport or keep.
