I have been hoping that the silence for around six weeks meant the something was boiling up somewhere. good luck, you deserve it and I too have everything crossed!

End of an era.
May all go smoothly this week, finally, and thanks for buying Coven Sud in the first place.
Spent the day visiting several old friends (separately); sobering to think that we will probably never see several of them (older than us) again.
One family (whose 3 children I worked with) gave me a present. A very kind thought, but I cannot think of a more inappropriate present to give someone moving 300-odd miles the next day than a beautiful (and clearly very expensive) bouquet of cut flowers! Now, do we put them in the removal van (which won't deliver until Wednesday), the car that has been in the drive here making the house look occupied and being collected on a low loader in the morning (by the same man who took Mi1dred up for us a couple of years ago) hopefully before the removal men get here (which will be there before us tomorrow), or in the car or trailer that will will be in?

I like the idea of the bouquet taking pride of place in the drivers seat (held in place by the seat belt of course) of the vehicle on the low-loader.

When my sister moved here, she was given a lot of flowers and pot plants, which really weren't the most helpful present when she was trying to arrange furniture. The oddest was two sets of quite pretty, but fairly pointless plates. It could have been assumed she was downsizing - she wasn't, but she took the opportunity to jettison everything she didn't really need. I'm sorry to say that they ended up in the charity shop.
Congratulations on your sale, at last. What a stressful time you've had. Much love to you both. Safe journey (of course, you're home by the time you read this) and I hope you can rest - well, once everything's unpacked.

Congrats, and fingers crossed!
Maybe a bit late, but you could pass the flowers on to someone who could use a brighter day.
