I agree that most wine glasses are far too big. I think the last ones I bought were from Amazon, I'm afraid. Although, having carefully measured the dishwasher, I was puzzled when the new ones didn't fit well. Turned out that the next size up had been sent, but too late to complain. I usually use charity shop ones, everyday.

I got some jolly nice ones from Anthropologie in the sales.

Ours are all M&S. The champagne flutes have (invisible) etching at the bottom of them which provides a more constant stream of bubbles than otherwise would be the case! To avoid breakages in the dishwasher we bought a Bosch/Siemens/Neff etc wine glass holder. It holds 4 glasses at an angle and works very well.

They’re not for me - and I’m guessing maybe not for you - but Gen Z often use stemless wine glasses.

Z - glad it's not just me! Charity shops round here seem not to have wine glasses, but I have realsied thereis a household auction somewhere quite local soon, and they have boxes of glasses listed amongst the lots, so that is a possibility. I love a good auction!
Debster - I hadn't heard of that shop. Looks rather nice - a bit like a department store used to be before nearly all of them closed.
Tim - I hadn't thought of M&S, thanks, I'll try there. Our dishwasher (bought after you were kind enough to look up the Which? reports IIRC) has built-in wine glass holding racks, which are excellent. It's the getting things in and out of the dishwasher that seems to be the problem - plus glass eventually becomes very fragile after years of machne washing I think.
MOTB - ah yes, correct guess. Wine tumblers. Yuck. I got some sent for free in with something I purchased. Best use is as vases or containers for rooting cuttings...
