I just really really can't do flasks of coffee or packed food any more. I did so many years of it with my 4 kids. I've tried to persuade myself to take a cup of coffee with me when I go out, but it literally sends shivers down my spine. Of course I'm wasting money but so what. I enjoy going to cafes and people-watching.

Caroline - if we were coffee drinkers (coffee out often being better than coffee at home), and could eat everything, and lived in a town or city with plenty of choice of venue, open at all hours, I suspect we'd be the same.

March 1st? A new motor broom, perhaps? Although engaging in the biannual new plate frenzy seems most unwitchy. Hmmm

Ian - correct, although there is apparently (to my surprise) no longer a 'biannual new plate frenzy' as most cars are now bought on PCPs and the manufacturers/dealers ensure even distribution of sales (and therefore control subsequent servicing and MOT needs) throughout the year by restricting supply dates.
The car is being manufactured with a towbar (as not all cars that can theoretically tow are able to have towbars retro-fitted these days - only the VIN tells you, and you don't know if a specific new car can until it is delivered) and a heated windscreen (living in the frozen north and ageing has made us soft) on a 12 week build time. We had to be very firm in saying that, despite getting a stonkingly good deal (not many of those around these days, as the figures in What Car attest), we were not prepared to take delivery at 12 weeks, just a couple of weeks before a new plate comes out.
In our defence, the Broom it is replacing is now over 12 years old, and if we wait there will no longer be any cars with manual gearboxes available.
I shall be first in line for a hydrogen-powered vehicle, but, having researched the subject extensively, taking into account all environmental costs over their lifetime, electric vehicles really are just greenwash. Which, sadly, successive governments have just lapped up without question.

Perhaps the pain is real and caused the dream? Good luck.

You are a genius Scoakat, I've realised that is exactly what it is!
Because the pain was so bad the first time in the night and got paired with the falling on glass in the dream, the pain is now permanently paired with that image (Pavlovian conditioning), so it's the pain triggering the image, rather than the other way round.
I know what has caused the injury too, so can now work on sorting that out.
Thanks!

Hopefully the injury and pain will be sorted out.
I had looked up the dream interpretation but there were so many interpretations that I gave up!

Thanks delcatto, I think I have worked it all out now. I shall write more about it later in the week.
