You probably qualify as thuralogists! Such a long gate on hinges ... I can only guess at the strain, unless the far end is supported somehow?

Is cake making becoming a lost art ? Cooking programmes are entertainment, not instruction.

By the way I solved most of my light switch dilemmas with DEWENWILS Remote Control Sockets - work well with lamps dotted around the flat.

Tim - Neither I nor Google know what that is? We shared your concern about the gate though - our current one has a wheel, added by Mr BW) at the furthest point from the hinge.

Caroline - yes, I agree. And those look like good gadgets for things plugged into sockets. Much better than the older style first generation ones I used to use down south. Thanks, I shall bear them in mind.

I made scones and a cake this week. Forgot the baking powder for the scones but they were kind of edible. With sufficient cream.

Any wasps though Debster?

I'm eating these indoors. Had a wasp in the conservatory two weeks ago.

Thuralogist is merely a word I coined from the Greek θύρα ( = gate)!
For smart sockets I recommend the TP100 model from TP-Link.
