Comments: Learning the hard way

What delightful guests. Proof that people don't (always) mellow with age. The only tiny bit I could empathise with is the coffee, I'm a coffee shop addict too. Your line-up of bottles from four people over one week is impressive, that would take me over six months to accumulate.

This sounds horrendous! They definitely wore out their welcome…oh wait …they invited themselves.

Blimey! That sounds horrendous. A polite but firm refusal to ever let them darken your door again is very much needed.

Just as well I didn't pop in last year! Mind you I don't drink and would have spent my time bothering your cat.

You are very hospitable, especially to last a week and keep on good terms, overall. Still, I'm sure they will add you to complaints when staying with their next victim.

I couldn't have done it, no, not that long.

It was the constantly taking photos of everything and immediately sending them to their friends and family that annoyed me most, together with the resulting beeps when people replied. Why not just enjoy the moment?

They kept trying to persuade Mr BW to join WhatsApp, but, as we said, we deliberately don't do social media as we have enough trouble keeping up with our own lives without wanting to be constantly bombarded with other people's photos and inane reflections.

I think the problem with Mr OFBW is that he is bored and although Mrs OFBW has tried to find things for him to get interested/involved in since he retired, he doesn't last long in any group he joins. I can't imagine why ;)

You're so right about the inane reflections. Which usually reflect no reflection!

I promise I'm not like that. And, if I do use my phone (I'd never post photos without very willing permission) then I put it on silent, because beeps are a pain in the ear. Indeed, the whole of the time I was married to Tim, I had my phone silenced unless it was for good reason, because it's just as annoying to a husband as anyone else.
