No cream teas for you!

Tis true Debster, I still can't look at a wasp without remembering that episode! And it must be - what - 20 years ago now?

We recently stayed in Chester, and by serendipity found a pub which didn't have any boomboxes or other sources of ridiculously loud muzak. The use of all digital devices was banned; everyone was talking quietly among themselves. It was extremely refreshing (helped, of course, by the wonderful real ale on offer).
On the other hand, we were constantly reminded on how much we rely on such digital devices. Let's let ¿friend? know where we are – ah, can't use the phone to text them. I wonder what ¿unknown fact? – ah, can't use the phone to look it up.
The clientele, of no particular age group, seemed to appreciate the peace, as did we.

Hardly any wasps here this year, but I've seen very few honey bees either. Plenty of ladybirds and butterflies, though.

Slightly less I think but it's fresh in my memory too.

I've searched the archives (from within the CMS as sadly it's no longer searchable any other way) Debster, and I can't find any mention.

Was it the same year that you got the red ball lily bulbs for me at Hampton Court? If so, it was September 2010, so, you are right, it's only 15 years ago.

It was around then. We found a cat in the glasshouse
