Happy BW Chocolate meringue gateau recipe anniversary. It is an annual festive treat in our house since FOTCR 2007 (recipe originally shared by you in early Jan 2006 I think, based on the date the recipe file was saved on my old laptop). Thank you!

Great to hear from you Verity hope all is well with you.

I'm glad you are still enjoying the CMG. I used to make it for blog parties and beekeeper and WI events, but we don't host those these days. I'm sure Mr BW would like to still enjoy it too, but I save him from himself these days as I don't eat that kind of stuff and a whole one to himself would be a heart attack on a plate!

My dad and brother's motorbike engines always ended up on the kitchen table in the winter.

Strictly speaking it is our trailer wheel in our craftroom :)
Don't tell BW but I have 2 more to refurbish after the paint on this one has dried.

Many years ago I helped a friend strip and clean the engine from his Ford Escort in his kitchen. His mother was apoplectic when she walked in and saw what we were doing. After an explosion of extremely loud Polish directed at all and sundry she left us to it but ensured we left that kitchen spotless afterwards!

BW, I love the way you say "my craft room" but Mr BW says "OUR craftroom".

Caroline and delcatto - yes, exactly, and what I have seen others do.

Caroline - I don't say, "In my workshop" or, "In my garage", so I don't expect him to say "In our craft room". It's mine, and sometimes I kindly let him do some things in there. I see that there is now a 90-odd year old cover for a Mi1dred tool box that has been filled, painted and weighted, on my newly-cleared craft room table...
