We think that our climate here is pretty much exactly what it was when we first moved to Coven Sud in 1995.
Geoff Hamilton was our gardening guru, and, as recent TV programmes have reminded us, he died in 1996 - 30 years ago. With this link to the time, we can remember clearly what the climate was like down south at that time. We also have detailed week-by-week gardening records as we have always kept a gardening diary.
Mr BW has done some serious number-crunching research into the differences in climate between North and South to enable us to get our heads around how different beekeeping is in these parts. Now that we understand that 300 miles north and 110m higher = the conditions in the south when we started beekeeping in 1997, it all makes much more sense!
I wonder how many other readers of this blog are also followers of DiamondGeezer. One led me to the other, but so long ago that I cannot remember which way round it was!
